Experience Sauda

Sauda is a small mountain town with a thriving town centre surrounded by gorgeous wilderness

Sauda town

Sauda boasts a cultural hub, Folkets Hus, cinema, library, outdoor pool (open all year round) a picturesque shopping area and our very own ski centre in Svandalen, only 8km from the town centre.

The historical town quarter Åbøbyen in Sauda is one of the best preserved areas harking back to the early days of Norway’s industrial revolution.

Fjellheim & friluftsliv

Sauda is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and hikers – explore the vast mountainous areas, hike up to our mountain peaks on well marked routes or learn about the local history by following the placards placed on the historical walking routes.

In the summer and autumn months there is a multitide of marked trails and when we enter wintertime there are over 100km marked ski trails to choose from.
