WELCOME TO SAUDA

Gateway to the wilderness

Our town is known for its close proximity to the ski centre, ski runs, mountain trails and secluded lakes
... But where exactly is Sauda?

Sauda is located far east in Ryfylke at the edge of a fjord, between Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) to the west Trolltunga to the east, along Norway’s National Scenic Route and only 2.5 hours away from Stavanger by boat.

What to do in Sauda?

In Sauda there’s a ski centre 8 km from town, an outdoor pool open all year round, the town sits on the very edge of the wilderness and is a thriving industry and agricultural community.

Explore the Norwegian wilderness with well marked hiking trails in summer and cross country ski routes in winter.

Experience the unique and living history in Sauda: visit the abandoned zinc mines and mining museum in Allmannajuvet, take in the majestic Svandalsfossen waterfall closeup or enjoy a refreshing paddle in the fairy pools in Åbødalen.
