Maldal er eit fint utgangspunkt for skiturar i dei vestlige delene av Skaulenområdet. Ein tur som går frå skogkledde lier til eit meir opna terreng og høgfjellsterreng ved Reinsvatnet. Området er og brukt til toppturar med Reinsnuten (1167 moh) som den mest populære.

Vegen hit
For å gå på skitur i Maldal, følg vegen frå Sauda sentrum mot Røldal, og ta av til høgre for fabrikken, mot Maldal.
Start skituren frå snuplassen 100m frå parkering i lett stigning oppover mot Maldalsstølane. Vidare går skiløypa oppover til Reinsvatnet. Ved utløpet av vattnet vender du til høgre i retning Vardanuten. Løypene går i ein runde og vender ned mot Maldalstølane og du følgjer same trasé ned.
