Museet ligg i Haakongsgate 51-53 i Åbøbyen. Historisk var dette byggje ein fire-familiebustad. Haakonsgate 51-53 blei bygd i 1917 og var eit av dei første husa som blei bygd her i Åbøbyen. Bustadar som denne låg nærast smelteverket og her kunne opptil 15 born med foreldre bu på to rom og kjøkken.
Idag er to av leilegheitene i byggjet innreidde slik det var arbeidarane budde på 1920-talet og på 1960-talet.
Denne utstillinga fortel om korleis livet var for industriarbeiderar som jobba på smelteverket, korleis det var å ver husmor og kordan det var å veksa opp her i Åbøbyen. I utstillinga kan du og lera meir om smelteverket og Åbøbyen.
