Då det norske industrieventyret starta, forvandla bondesamfunnet i Sauda seg til å bli eit moderne industrisamfunn.
Folkets Hus vart sentral i moderniseringa av Sauda, bygget er teikna av Stavangerarkitekten Gustav Helland og Folkets Hus stod ferdig i 1931.
Då som nå vart Folkets Hus eit samlingspunkt for både lokalbefolkninga og dei besøkjande.
